complete and partial dentures

If you have missing teeth, you may have considered tooth replacement. When teeth are missing, it makes it hard to smile without feeling self-conscious. It makes chewing and speaking difficult.

Dentures in Chesterland, OH are a practical and time-tested solution to tooth loss. And we provide both partial and full dentures in our dental office.

Types of Dentures We Offer

If you have partial or sporadic tooth loss, but your remaining teeth are healthy, partial dentures may be the best solution.

Partial dentures rely on artificial teeth placed on an arch or dental plate. These teeth fit around your remaining teeth, using your gums and these remaining teeth for support. Partial dentures also rely on clips for an added anchor.

Full dentures stand in for full tooth loss and rely on suction, gravity, and the boney ridges of your jaw for support.

We also offer implant-supported dentures in Chagrin Falls. This means your dentist places a few—approximately four to six—implants in your jaw. These implants hold your denture in place, making it a more permanent restoration.

You can remove partial and full dentures for cleaning or while sleeping. Implant-supported dentures are not removable, but they are more stable.

Caring for Your Dentures

It’s important to clean your dentures daily using a denture bath. This prevents bacteria from forming on the gums. You should also never use toothpaste on your denture, but there are denture pastes available for brushing.

If you remove your dentures during the night, it’s crucial to keep them wet in their denture soak or bath to help them maintain their shape.

If you notice a crack in your denture, or if you’re applying adhesive several times per day, it may be time for a new denture!
